Meeting new folks is always a treat

Submitted by Diane Walton on Mon, 11/29/2010 - 14:17

We spent the weekend of November 27-28 at our table at Edmonton's Royal Bison Craft Fair. Odd, perhaps, for a literary journal to be there, but we had a chance to engage with some potential readers, and even a few wannabe writers. A lovely woman handed me some cash and asked if she could buy a gift subscription. While she was completing the information form, she said, " I bought some back issues of On Spec at a yard sale during the summer, and they were really great!".

That moment made the whole weekend worthwhile for me.

We have copies of the current issue of On Spec, already gift-wrapped for you to send to your friends and family. Imagine that! One less thing to worry about on your shopping list. Buy someone a gift subscription to On Spec, and we'll send them the gift-wrapped first copy, along with a beautiful gift card. And the best part is that they will continue to get your gifts all year long.

Congratulations to Leah Bobet!

Long-time readers of On Spec will be familiar with Leah's name and her wonderful stories. Her first novel, Making Safe, has recently been sold to Cheryl Klein at Arthur A. Levine via Caitlin Blasdell of Liza Dawson Associates. (Source: LOCUS Magazine , December 2010 )
